You are most welcome to wander around the gardens and choose one of the many quiet and private sitting places to enjoy a private moment for relaxation and reflection. Much of the garden has been landscaped by the well known gardener, writer and TV. broadcaster John Cushnie. Copies of his books on trees and shrubs are in your suite should you wish to make reference to something growing in the garden.
Sit quietly in the garden on a warm summers evening and you will spot many species of songbird and from time to time woodpeckers, buzzards, and in the late evening bats and owls.
As the evening grows colder or on a crisp sunny winter’s day you can sit in the wind free pergola under the heat lamp and enjoy the garden and lovely views beyond.
If you wish to wander further afield we will be delighted to provide you with directions for short walks through the fields and even some welly boots too! There are many walks through the fields along the established rights of way and the local farmers are very happy for you to wander provided you keep to the public paths. Within a few minutes you can wander along the canal side for miles in each direction.
Much of our Garden has been designed by the well known late BBC Broadcaster Author and Garden Designer John Cushnie. Our thanks to him for the great amount of pleasure he has given us and our guests with his beautiful and imaginative work.
